IGBAJO POLY LECTURER URGES YOUTH TO SHUN PROTEST EMBRACES DIALOGUE

Tobiloba Adekunle  The Head of the Department of Mass Communication Igbajo Polytechnic, Mr. Olugbenga Adesemowo has urged the nation's youth to prioritize dialogue over protest. He disclosed this during a chat with IGBAJO POLY NEWS Crew on Tuesday in his office. According to him “Protests have been a vital tool in highlighting issues, but to effectively achieve a desired nation, there is need to engage in peaceful dialogue with those in power.  He however, acknowledged the critical role protest have played in bringing attention to systemic issues in Nigeria but argued that dialogue provides a more sustainable path to reform. "Engaging in meaningful conversations with policymakers and other stakeholders can lead to more impactful and long-lasting solutions while protest will only lead to destruction of properties and even some people use it as a channel to steal and destroy properties of innocent people" he said. IGBAJO POLY DECLARES TWO DAYS HOLIDAY

  Abiola Omoboboye  The management of Igbajo polytechnic has declared Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd August 2024 as mid semester break for the students of the institution. This was contained in a press release on Tuesday evening through the Registrar of the institution Mrs. Bukola Odetola. She urged members of staff and students to vacate the school premises during tihe two days break. Mrs Odetola also noted that the decision of the management to suspend the activities of the school for two days has nothing to do with the proposed nationwide protest. She however, advised the students to stay away from any act of violence that can tarnish the image of the institution and ensuring their security of lives and properties during this period.
