In a defining moment for the National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMACOS) at Igbajo Polytechnic, the department held its eagerly awaited election, marking a significant shift in its leadership landscape. The election, which took place earlier today, attracted a remarkable turnout from the student body, who were eager to cast their votes in a process characterized by transparency, enthusiasm, and a strong democratic spirit.

The electoral race saw candidates vying for crucial positions within the association, including the coveted roles of President, Vice President, and Treasurer. Other positions, while important, did not face the same level of competition. The entire process was overseen by the Dean students affairs, Mr. Biyi Onipede, the HOD business administration Mr. Gbenga Babalola, the HOD Electrical Electronics Mr. Fajumobi Adewale and also one of the electoral observer Mr. Ayokanmi Obembe alongside with Students Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) of NAMACOS, led by its Chairman, Olayiwola Feranmi Omojaro.

Reflecting on the successful execution of the election, Omojaro expressed his satisfaction and gratitude. "Even though this is my first time serving as the SIEC chairman, I am so happy and grateful that the election went smoothly, with no conflicts among the contestants and their supporters. I am also deeply appreciative of the entire NAMACOS SIEC team, who worked tirelessly to make this election a great and successful one. I urge the newly elected executives to remember the promises they made during their manifestos and to ensure they are fulfilled."

The election process was conducted with a meticulous approach, particularly during the collation and counting of votes, which was handled by the electoral committee. This ensured a high level of transparency and fairness throughout the process. At the conclusion of the vote counting, Abiola Joshua Omoboboye emerged as the newly elected President of NAMACOS, having secured the majority of the votes.

In his first address as President, Abiola Joshua Omoboboye expressed deep gratitude to his fellow students for placing their trust in him. "I am deeply honored to have been elected as the President of NAMACOS. This victory is not just mine, but belongs to all the students who believed in our vision for a better and more united association. I promise to work diligently with my team to achieve the goals we have set and to elevate the standards of our association," Omoboboye stated.

The newly elected Vice President Akinade Moses Ayomide also shared his excitement following the results. "I'm so excited to have reached this position, and I am fully committed to working alongside our new President for the betterment of the department," He said.

Tobiloba Adekunle, the newly elected Public Relations Officer (PRO), echoed this enthusiasm, outlining his vision for effective communication within the association. "Communication is key in any organization, and as the PRO, my focus will be on ensuring that every student is well-informed and engaged. We have a lot of initiatives lined up, and I am eager to get started," Adekunle noted.

Mr. Olugbenga Adesemowo, the Head of the Mass Communication Department, praised the students for their exemplary conduct during the election. "I am proud of our students for demonstrating such a high level of maturity and responsibility throughout the election process. It is a testament to the quality of leadership we are nurturing in this department. I have no doubt that the new executives will continue to uphold the values and standards of NAMACOS," Mr. Adesemowo remarked.

As the new leadership team prepares to take on their roles, the students of the Mass Communication Department at Igbajo Polytechnic look forward to a period of dynamic leadership and impactful initiatives under the guidance of President Abiola Joshua Omoboboye and his team.
