JUBILATIONS AS IGBAJO POLY UNVEILS MAGAZINE, AWARDS RECTOR

It was a celebration galore for the students and staff of Igbajo polytechnic on Thursday October 3, 2024 during the official launching  of the school magazine at Yetunde Oyewole Auditorium.

Speaking at the event the Rector of the institution Dr. Ganiyu Abimbola Adebisi , represented by the Deputy Rector of the institution Engr. Monsuru Ade Okandeji  commended the Department  of Mass Communication for  the publication of quality magazine for the institution , he however, lauded the management for creating enabling environment for academic excellence for the students . He added that the magazine will go a long way in projecting the image of the institution  and mirror it as a practical based  institution   among its contemporaries.

Also speaking at the event was the Chief Lecturer from Osun State Polytechnic, Dr Philip Ewuola commended the management of Igbajo Polytechnic for the giant strides in improving the standard of education in Nigeria while commending the Department of Mass Communication of the institution headed by Mr. olugbenga Adesemowo, for inculcating  the practical  knowledge to the students which will make them professional players in the field of journalism . 

Dr. Ewuola recalled that he was the first head of the Department of  Osun state Polytechnic , Iree  to publish newspaper and magazine for the institution , he however, encouraged the department to engage in  more publications to create good image for the school and the department.

In his short address, the Head of Mass Communication Department,  Mr Olugbenga Adesemowo acknowledged the support and encouragement he received from  the management in ensuring the successful publication of the maiden edition of the magazine for the institution. He thanked members of Staff, Head of departments, particularly his colleagues in the department for their support and team work geared towards   the publication.

The climax of the event was the award of Honour to the Rector Dr. Ganiyu Abimbola Adebisi  as the Best Rector of the Year based on his achievement within a year in office , Deputy Rector Engr. Monsuru Ade Okandeji received Award of Merit for his contribution and support to the development of the institution while  Mrs. B.F Odetola clinched the Award of Excellence in Administration  and Olugbenga Adesemowo bagged the best HOD of the year.

Also in attendance Hon Sunday Akere, former commissioner of information in Osun state, Hon Abiodun Oloba , chairman Igbajo LCDA, former Acting Rector of the institution Engineer Bello, Head of Departments, Staff and Students of Igbajo polytechnic.

Igbajo Poly Rector Inspects Second Phase of Second Semester Exams, Warns Against Malpractice

  Olugbenga Adesemo  The Rector of Igbajo Polytechnic, Dr. Ganiyu Abimbola Adebisi, on Tuesday inspected the conduct of the second phase of the second semester examination for the 2024/2025 academic session. Accompanying the Rector were key management staff, including the Registrar, Mr. Ezekiel Onipede, the Bursar, Mr. Akinlolu Ojo, the Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Biyi Onipede, and other senior management officials.
