Igbajo Poly Deputy Rector commends management strides

In view of the continuous efforts Igbajo Polytechnic is making to further improve its academic environment, the Deputy Rector, Engineer. Monsuru Ade Okandeji, acknowledged the leadership of the Rector, Dr. Ganiyu Abimbola Adebisi, noting that the management is committed to ensuring that the Polytechnic provides students with the necessary exposure to graduate as total and well-rounded individuals at the end of their programme.

However, after observing that the institution’s curriculum is not fully aligned with modern-day standards, he revealed that management is working on filling this gap with local content in order to meet the relevant needs of society.

Speaking with Igbajo Poly News reporters in his office today, he noted that the academic standard of the Polytechnic in comparison with other institutions has been encouraging. He said further that Igbajo Polytechnic was rated the 18th best polytechnic in Nigeria by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). He emphasized that this ranking positions Igbajo not only among private or state-owned polytechnics but also as a strong competitor with other institutions nationwide.

While emphasizing the management effort on students’ academic performance, he analyzed the varieties of challenges faced by learners, which led to the establishment of the Institution’s Counselling Unit for proper guidance and support.

The Deputy Rector further affirmed that graduates of Igbajo Polytechnic are highly welcomed in whichever field they belong, including those who participate in Industrial Training (IT). According to him, Igbajo students continue to wave the institution’s flag high in the labour market, an observation confirmed through the Employer Rating of Diplomates exercise.

However The Deputy Rector urged Mass Communication students to keep up their good work while cooperating with lecturers for better academic outcomes, assuring them of management’s continued support by providing the required facilities.
