Igbajo Polytechnic partners with police for safer community

In a bid to foster stronger security ties between law enforcement and academic institutions, the Area Commander of the Nigerian Police Force, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ajayi Williams, paid a familiarization visit to Igbajo Polytechnic on Thursday, September 4, 2025.


ACP Williams was accompanied by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Boluwaduro Division, Superintendent of Police (SP) Adebayo Jimoh, alongside other senior officers and men of the command. The visit was aimed at deepening collaboration between the police and the institution in ensuring safety within the school community and its environs.


During the interactive session with the polytechnic’s management, ACP Williams emphasized the importance of proactive measures in tackling security challenges. He noted that effective collaboration between the police and educational institutions remains vital in safeguarding students, staff, and community members.


Responding, the Rector of Igbajo Polytechnic, Dr. Ganiyu Abimbola Adebisi, commended the police leadership for the initiative. He described the visit as maintaining a peaceful academic environment, particularly as the institution continues to prioritize the welfare and security of its students and staff.


Dr. Adebisi further expressed the readiness of the institution to work hand-in-hand with the Nigerian Police Force in maintaining a peaceful and secure academic environment. He assured the security chief  of his commitment in ensuring adequate protection of lives and properties of the students.
